The genesis of the company dates back to 1977.  At that time, Joe Ciolli was working diligently as an export agent. During one of his shifts, a significant problem became glaringly apparent: there was a distinct lack of qualified individuals capable of rectifying and repairing rejected freight from the airlines.

The alternative to repair was to return the cargo to the original shipper, a process that invariably resulted in both substantial additional costs and protracted delays. Joe recognized the inefficiency and the potential for a more streamlined solution.

 

It was in this moment of realization, while navigating the complexities of international shipping, that the concept for Restricted Article Specialists was born.
